Wapello County Hiring Deputy Sheriff

The Wapello County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for full-time positions for Deputy Sheriff.  All minimum ILEA hiring standards apply.  The hiring process will include an oral interview, MMPI testing and thorough background check.  Non-ILEA certified applicants, being considered for these positions, will be required to pass the P.O.S.T. Test and Physical Fitness testing also.  Wapello County does offer ILEA certified officers’ opportunities for lateral transfers.  Out-of-state certified applicants will be required pass the ILEA Physical Fitness Standards and to get ILEA certification through examination in Iowa.

Certified Officers pay and vacation will be determined on years of service.

For those officers not ILEA certified, Sheriff’s Office will contact you to schedule physical testing and P.O.S.T. testing.
