Cerro Gordo County Hiring Deputy Sheriff

The Cerro Gordo County Civil Service Commission will conduct a Civil Service Examination for the appointment of Deputy Sheriff of Cerro Gordo County, Iowa as follows:

Minimum qualifications for such appointment will be in accordance with the minimum standards as set forth by the Law Enforcement Academy Council and approved by the Iowa Departmental Rules Committee. For rules, please contact the Civil Service Clerk, Heather Hahn at [email protected]

If an applicant is not able to attend our testing, they shall attempt to test at alternate sites/agencies within the state and transfer scores for he POST and physical agility testing. If no alternate dates are available within the state, applicant shall give written request prior to closing of the posting (April 24, 2025) to the civil service commission with the reason for the alternate testing date. The commission will decide if alternate date will be provided.

Applications must be completed online no later than 4:00 PM on April 24, 2025. The physical test will be held after the written test for those who have qualified.
